What's your favorite sandwich to make, /ck/?

For me, it's the humble BLT.

I'm a big fan of bacon, blue cheese, lettuce and a black pepper.
It's a bit of an acquired taste.
The less salty option is bacon, brie and cranberry jelly.

A regional, relatively unknown mexican sandwich. Its name is "Torta de la barda".

Its ingredients are: refried black beans, ham, head cheese, tomato, onion, anywhere from half to a whole avocado, fresh white cheese, half a slide of processed american cheese, somewhat dry shredded beef, pork crackling simmered in spicy jalapeno or serrano sauce (the dried beef helps soak up the sauce), and stewed mexican chorizo.

I live abroad so I make a simplified version of the stuff with avocado, refried black beans, ham, slices of shoulder ham in a hollowed out baguette. Can't get the right chilies or crackling here though :(.

I am absolutely in love with the BLT sandwich, I make it at least twice a month.
It just has everything I want in a sandwich, sweet savory crunchy soft, nothing comes close in profile of texture or flavor.
I have recently started thin slicing my tomato to greatly increase the surface area to ensure full coverage.
Perfect BLT for me is lightly toasted sour dough bread, mayonnaise on both slices, fresh vine picked tomato, salt and pepper, thick cut bacon (probably applewood) and then some fresh leaf lettuce.
I like to pair my BLT with some kettle cooked salt and vinegar chips for more crunch and the crisp pungent taste.
I also enjoy tuna sandwiches when I don't feel like spending 20$ on a meal, tuna salad with tomato either grilled in a melt or on toast.

>>11841328
>fresh vine picked tomato...some fresh leaf lettuce.
Although, the BLT is superb, it has a very short window where it is because lettuce is a cool season crop and tomato is a warm season crop. There's a very small period of time when those will be locally in sync. A pity really.

>>11841356
Yeah if I was a home grower I can see this being an issue, however with markets and grocers getting (mostly quality) produce from around the world I can get good quality stuff any time just going right down the road.
It's not like we have to worry about growing seasons too much anymore.
Tomatoes here in FL at least are more of a year round crop and I know a few places that I can get really good fresh ones every week and my grocer has decent lettuce year round too.

It's not something I can make often, but I'll shoot

Got some cooked and chopped chicken breast? Ok good

Got a few bacon strips (chop them)? Ok good

You'll need some good bread. Let's just start toasting those open side up with shredded cheddar (or similar)

Add the chicken and bacon... Squirt some ranch sauce (yes, I said ranch sauce), slap them together, you got a helluva good sandwhich.

Add some grilled and diced onion and tomato if you're up to it

I always seem to be the guy that comments italian in these threads. Italian roll split, pepperoni or salami and ham, mozzarella or havarti or provolone, a spicy mustard, some shaved onions, spicy or pickled peppers, a drizzle of olive oil, some herbs. Tomatoes if you're of a mind. Shit is always bomb.

I just had my first Reuben yesterday and shit was amazing

Is making your own corned beef worthwhile? Same with all sandwich meats, for that matter. Or should i just pay for it at the store. Forgive me, i never make a lot of sandwiches other than maybe a grilled cheese

muffulettas in Nawlins are amazingly good. You cant really get the feel for the taste from pictures alone. The bread is a lot like buttery foccia bread in real life and before I had one I always assumed it was tough and dense.

Also to add at the place I had it at they had a shaker of some italian type dressing to dip it in and that made it even more amazing. I had mine hot/toasted, I know lots of people say you should have it cold. Either way it lives up to its reputation.

While I was in Greece I was introduced to "vromiko" sandwiches. I thought they were pretty unique and unexpected. It translates to "dirty" sandwich and basically its a sandwich piled up with whatever you want on it. Bacon, ham, fried chicken patty, veggies, tazatziki, cream cheese, all different types of mayos that I dont even know what they were on a long toasted hoagie roll with sesame seeds. I remember they had this one mayo/yogurt spread with salami in it which sounded really weird. Pretty cool.
