I enjoy steamed brocolli and brussel sprouts mostly. I used to just put them in a bowl with a bit of water and cover with plastic wrap and put them in the microwave for a few minutes. Now I don't own a microwave, so now I use either a steamer basket or sometimes just a random strainer in a covered pot to steam vegetables. You put roughly an inch of water at the bottom of the pot, bring it to a boil, put the basket with vegetables in there and cover the pot for a while. Then when you take the vegetables out, viola! They are steamed.

steamed steak

You can buy frozen dumplings or xiaolongbao at Asian grocers if they carry them. Steam them over a cabbage leaf if you feel concerned about your health or don't.

It's a pretty self-explanatory process, as for what, well, that depends on your interests, I often use it for classic titles I no longer have discs for or that I might have previously ignored
