Look for fresh chives, italian parsley, chervil, thyme, tarragon and sorrel. Also keep three salts: course, grey, and fleur de sel. If you need a bit of a heat then grab some espelette pepper off of amazon.

Yes garlic powder has less of a garlic flavor than fresh garlic. That should be obvious. But fresh garlic and garlic powder have completely different uses.
