My mom is pretty damn good cook. Does she make chicken stock reductions from scratch? Nope. Does she make hollandaise for asparagus? Nah. Does she stew her adobo sauce for 48 hours? Hell no.

But she can whip up a full Thanksgiving dinner for 18 people with soup, salad and dessert in a miraculous 1.5 hours while cleaning the kitchen in the process.

I literally do not understand it. I've watched her and helped her prep... there's no cursing, no sweating, no flour on the apron, no sink full of dishes. And yet somehow there's an amazing dinner with homemade apple pie. It's fucking magic.
