we still eat it, its just named as something else. There was a horse meat scandal recently where many foods labelled as beef were found to be around 50% horse meat.

I went to a horsemeat restaurant called ロッキー馬力屋 in Tokyo. It was really good. I haven't eaten horsemeat since. I wish horsemeat was legal in the US. I visit Ontario from time to time, but I haven't come across horse there.
