bought a frozen whole pic related. prob gonna cook it sous vide then finish it in cast iron. read a million recipes, but nothing looks compelling.

suggestions?

Freezing in place is their defensive strategy. Don't move and hope the predator doesn't see you. If he does, then run away. The problem is that doesn't work for cars in the road--the rabbit doesn't recognize them as a threat like they would a dog so they don't try and run. And camo, which doesn't really work on a clean flat road anyway, is useless against a car.

I had some relative tell me deer were shown to have the ability to count but it was only to like 2. Like they knew there was more than 1 of something. There's none. There's 1. There's more than one. So once they see the second car they assume it's safe to go once it passes.

Whatever you do add some fat. Rabbit is some of the leanest meat you will ever come across which is great if you are trying to bulk but it is not particularly flavorful or satiating like beef or pork. Butter, lard, bacon, whatever you like just add some fat the recipe.
