If yu want to fully prepare you could also home baked fries in an insulated container in your car but I would not (need to emphasize this) recommend it given the looks I have had from disrespectful McDonald employees inventing excuses to walk by my car and signal their coworkers in the past. Absolutely ruined my enjoyment of my cup of water and home fries.

I learned from back when I yoyo dieted trying to eat small amounts that I absolutely cannot eat that way. I eat small amounts, absolutely hate it (it just makes me hungrier) and then I binge eat. Once I started eating as much as I wanted one day and nothing the next (honestly much easier than trying to resist eating more after eating only just a little) I lost the weight. You probably need to do something about the tendency to binge eat eventually. I recommend drinking a few glasses of water and eating some vegetables you like (for me it's usually steamed broccoli) before having a meal. You still get to eat whatever you were craving but you feel satisfied sooner because you're full. Also eat slowly of course.

the mcdonalds whopper (big n tasty) was better than a QPC, DQPC, and Big Mac
It sucks that mcdonalds would charge you for adding tomato and lettuce and mayonnaise to a sandwich, but they won't compensate you for keeping the cheese off or even substituting tomato & lettuce for the cheeses, if you wanted to turn a double quarter pounder into a big n tasty
