I unironically believe that amaricanized tacos like this are way better than those weird Mexican street tacos that you get from some sketchy food truck in California. The texture is far better, I love that crunch. There also aren’t autistic rules about only topping them with cilantro and onion. Everyone in real life agrees with me, everyone on here disagrees. What gives?

americanized mexican and tex/mex are far superior foods than "authentic" mexican. Authentic mexican food is pretty sloppy, and really lacking in proper seasoning...also corn tortillas aren't fit to serve dogs.

Those "street tacos" are americanized, tacos in Mexico are very simple. You sound like you have no idea what you are talking about. This is a cooking board, but idiots like you have turned it into a "shut-ins jerking each other off over fast food" board.

I like both but I realize that I enjoy the Tacobellesque tacos because that's what i ate as a child from fast food. They taste good because much of it was being hungry and enjoying them when you are young and the psychological impact of that enjoyment stays with you. It's how all objectively horrible things taste great. Like twinkies, McDonalds, Root Beer, spam. etc.

Now i want a taco supreme. thanks.

OP here. I am actually a Mexican American who has grown up eating “Americanized” hard shell tacos. There is nothing wrong with them, in my opinion they are just better than street tacos. I’ve tried a lot of the meats, lengua, carnitas, adobada, whatever. They just aren’t as good. Don’t automatically assume I don’t know what I’m talking about simply because I prefer the superior taco.

First of all, learn to type with some punctuation so I can understand what you are trying to say. You seem like a complete idiot. Also, I don’t live in Idaho, that was another very strange assumption. I live in Pueblo Colorado. This is a place that grows better chili than you have ever had in your life. I’m assuming this only because you so rudely assumed things about me, asshole. Americanized tacos always and forever!

If the “authentic” tacos are specially seasoned meats meant to be served and tasty with only a bit of onion and cilantro, why do I see everyone drowning the fuckers in lime juice and salsa. Sometimes they even eat radish or pickled carrots and jalapeño after each bite! It’s like they use them as a chaser to get the taste out of there mouth or some shit. Jesus, you are supposed to be eating a delicious taco, not taking a shot of bottom shelf vodka. Why the need for a chaser? Defend your opinion. I need a good laugh.

They suck not cause of what's in them, but because of the hard shell. Take one bite and the whole fuckin thing falls apart. No thanks. I've made americanized tacos with soft flour or corn tortillas and theyre way better. Hard shells are for idiots.

Yeah, I moved to PDX in 2003 for school and that's when I first saw the food truck craze, but PDX was definitely ahead of the curve. 10 years before that food trucks definitely were a thing, but they pretty much just went to construction sites (at least where I grew up) during lunch hour, and you'd see one or two at popular beaches or tourist spots.

I understand Americans adapting food to their palates as they don't handle strong spices very well, but putting yellow cheese and sour cream on unseasoned minced meat is just horrible.
