Are they finally edible?

Every Wagner pizza is clearly just a copy of a Dr. Oetker pizza, which isn't in and of itself a knock against the brand. Last time I tried, over a decade ago, they were all very poor copies though.

It's super cheap and generally tastes better then the more expensive brands; the vast majority of frozen pizzas have really shitty sauce that's way to sweet. California pizza kitchen is good for different flavors but so far tonys is my favorite pepperoni.

They stopped making it. Sam's Club brand buffalo chicken pizza. Now it's "thick crust" instead of thin crust and it sucks.
Totino's had a buffalo chicken pizza too, they stopped making it.
the "best" frozen pizza now is Red Baron french bread pizza.

Looks like a well modified frozen pizza.
For whatever reason, Tombstone always costs a buck or two more than Red Baron, despite being less weight and having inferior packaging. Is it purely branding/advertising cost, or is it a better pizza somehow?
I'm reaching the age where quality matters over both size and price. Also its time to move on from Red Baron, after this cringe:

I was very serious about the Lou’s part. I’m in New York Shitty now and pizza here can’t compete.

>> No.11701929

I tend to break them down by price point.

Totinos is about the cheapest you can get at a buck and change per pizza. Yes, they suck but if you're drunk/high/broke and just want a pizza-like substance at the ready then it's fine for that.

The next step up is Red Baron. They're 3-5 bucks depending on where you get them and they're a pretty good middle of the road between cheap and decent. One thing I will say though is you have to eat them hot, the second they're even room temperature they basically turn to cardboard.

My current favorite is Freschetta. They're about 5-7 dollars per pizza. I know that's getting kind of pricey for frozen pizza, but the quality is worth it in my mind. Unlike other brands these can actually get cold and still be edible. If I had to equate these to anything I'd say they remind me of grade school cafeteria pizza - in a good way. They also claim to have no preservatives for what's that's worth to you.

Any more than 7 or 8 dollars and you may as well be making pick up orders at Dominos. You're spending the same amount and the pizza will be 10 times better anyway.

3 things:
- get good at making dough and perfect how thin/thick you want it. making stuffed crust isn't hard either.
- the tomato sauce is extremely important, so find and perfect a recipe
- and just choose your favorite toppings. if you got the last two steps right, the toppings will truly make the pizza

if you were referring to price, flour, yeast water and tomatoes (if you buy them loose and at the right place) are really cheap. cheese is where I give around half of my budget out

I should mention that if you're in America, frozen pizza is actually going to be cheaper than mine. I heard you can get frozen pizzas there for under a dollar each, sometimes less than 50cents if you buy them in bulk

I'm in Germany and finding frozen pizza for less than 3 euros (3.50usd) is hard enough as it is, let alone buying anything that isn't soggy cardboard
