Never cooked anything complex as a kid but I did go very shortly through the phase of "everything is an ingredient" which resulted in a pea soup with bitters boiled into it. Have you ever tasted Death's bacon in the rivers of rot? I have.

When I was a kid, I would microwave hot dogs until it bursted and put it over rice.

That was fine until I added soy sauce, ranch, hot sauce, buffalo wing sauce, mustard, and ketchup to it and mixed it all up.

I went to a food truck that specialized in grilled cheese. They had grilled cheese nachos. They got half a loaf of a baguette, made a grilled cheese with it, added in some salsa and avocado and sliced it like a tortilla chip. Then they topped it with typical nacho stuff with salsa and sour cream to dip.

I can sooort of see what he was doing.
