I 'got' into whisky through Monkey Shoulder, and because of that, it's in my top spot right now. I just love it. I'm trying to explore more - Dalmore 12 is up there as well. I'd like to get a Highland Park 12 and Balvenie soon.

I'll start by not answering your question, I've been enjoying Bulleit Rye. It's cheap enough and really smooth.
Never tried jap whiskey. Can't be had in my area. How is it?

I love Japanese whiskey. All of them I've tried I've really enjoyed or loved. Taketsuru at the moment is probably my favorite one. I've had the Hakushu before and also Toki and one other one at the moment I can't think of.

I wish I had the funds to endlessly buy Taketsuru atm; I just love the taste in all of it's forms. I want to try the Miyagikyo next but I can't find a bottle for less than 100 where I live.

Any suggestions?

Took me 6 years before I could look at a glass of wine again. These days, I can't do more than about 3 straight whiskies without getting the shits. I'd be lying if I said beer was better, but it's just as varied and interesting, if not more enjoyable.

Evan Williams for my regular uses, Buffalo Trace or Bulleit if I feel like spending a bit more.

Not really a scotch fan and have yet to try any japanese stuff

These are my 2 favourite whiskies. Wiser's small batch is my go-to whisky, when I don't want to spend to much, but have an enjoyable whisky experience. Glenfiddich 15 is the most enjoyable scotch I've tried so far and will continue to go back to it, a bit inexperienced when it comes to scotch whiskies though.

Much more of a bourbon drinker usually but Bruichladdich Laddie is my current favourite scotch. It's pretty full on and different to most others I've tried. Tastes like the sea.

Hibiki is quite nice. I'm not sure it's worth the price tag but I like it.
