Not really soup, but I made my favorite chili last night:
>Get a large pot
>Dice and sweat one onion
>Add 2 pounds ground bison and brown
>then add 2 cans of black beans (drained) and one large can of crushed tomatoes
>I also like to add 2 diced bell peppers, one diced carrot, and between 2-3 sliced jalapenos
>Add spices, I use some crushed garlic, cumin, cayenne, paprika, S&P, and a couple glugs of Worcestershire sauce to taste
>Mix well and then add have a quart of beef stock to the mix
>Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer for at least two hours, stirring occasionally
>Add around 2 tablespoons worth of flour if you want to help speed up the thickening process

It tends to reach optimal thickness and flavor around 3 hours if you're simmering it on low.

Soup is a great winter time breakfast food. I don't drink coffee or tea too often, but soup can warm you up and isn't too filling depending on what it is.

Hot and sour soup. The proper stuff, not the goop you'd get from westernised Chinese takeout
