11665132 No.11665132 [Reply] [Original]

Just got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
I’m not even fat, so trolls can fire away.
I’m in a bit of shock.
Anyone else here with it and how in control of things are you?
Any diet tips? I have cut out all sweet drinks which is how I got it. Any help/support would be appreciated.

it's all in your head, m8. you're fine.

That's good. Type 2 Diabetes is just insulin insensitivity. Eat less sugar and carbs and your body will require less insulin to correct your blood sugar. Look up the glycemic index.

Try doing a water fast my friend. The longer you go without eating the less insulin resistant you become.

Intermittent fasting would be better than 24+ hours in this scenario

Why would you think you had to be fat to get diabetes you daft cunt? Its caused by insulin resistance which is caused by eating too many carbs / sugar, everyone knows this, your chances are higher if you are also obese but obesity isnt a requirement.

Type 1 here. I started lifting 3 times a week and doing cardio on 3 other days. My insulin sensitivity skyrocketed. I'd suggest you do the same. At least type 2 is curable...

Eggs are a based option for diabetes.
I eat egg everyday, like 5 of them. Of course lots of salads and verges too. Fish, no beef.
Last month doc said I no longer show any signs of diabetes.
Oh and like the other poster said, exercise and gym.
You can make it OP.

You should get on an exercise bike and pedal for 1 hr after eating a big dinner. That exercise will increase blood flow to your leg muscles; the biggest, hungriest muscles in the human body, and they will rapidly clean up all the sugar in your blood and give your pancreas a break.

Fasting will make your muscles shrink
You want big hungry muscles that will absorb all that sugar in your blood.

Type 1 fag here, regulate your daily food intake like a schedule. Wake up and eat low carb high protein meals. Manage your portion size so you’re not eating just one big meal, just a lot of tiny meals/snacks throughout the day. Drink a lot of water! You’ll piss out sugar and it lowers blood sugar. Run/do exercise. Don’t eat after 7-8pm

I was able to keep my blood sugar below 150 for the last week just doing that. I used to spike to over 300-400 and then crash hard. Keeping consistent is key

Damn son wtf? Your basal programming is off or something no way should you be spiking that high if you're entering in the accurate amount of carbs. I got a Medtronic and I only spiked to 300 once but that's because it was Christmas eve and I back to backed two meals and lost track of how many carbs I ate. I think I mostly underestimated the stouts. I correction bolused and added in that I ate 20 more grams of carbs and by morning I was 150

fasting is a cure for type 2 diabetes. Don't confuse type 2 and type 1 diabetes, they are very different diseases, with completely different causes and treatments, the only thing they have in common is the symptom of high blood sugar.

My symptoms were sore feet so I kinda knew when I went to see the doc, but it really didn’t sink in until I was given all of the insulin and reading up on it.
