My dad loves this place. We used to get breakfast at Cracker Barrels along the highway/near our hotel whenever we went on family road trips (which was often).

It always makes me pretty nostalgic and I think the breakfast (especially the smoky sausage patties) is decent.

I'm sorry to hear it's so shitty to work at. I hate restaurants that overstress/underpay their employees (I realize that's most of them).

Went to one in southern Virginia. I swear to god I stepped into that place and it was like I stepped into the 60s. Everyone was old, white, everything smelled like smoke, and it just had that look that you can't really describe but it's when you can tell nobody who wasn't white had been in that place before.
Food was pretty good all in all, the chicken & dumplings was tasty

On Christmas fucking day these coons come in hooting and hollering at the top of their lungs and making a fucking mess. The real kicker? They didn't even leave ONE fucking penny for a tip.

I've only eaten at Cracker Barrel once when traveling thru Ohio on a trip back home and I got liver & onions and it was tasty and I got a ton of food for a good price.

7/10 would eat there again.

I washed dishes here in high school
It was a nightmare.
On the weekends you couldn't wash them fast enough, the busers would just bring tubs in relentlessly, it started to feel personal.
You'd have a line of full bus tubs stacked and lined all the way out the door.
Every day we'd be standing in 6 inches of water because the floor drain was gooped up with trash and you're too busy to take even 5 seconds to clean it up.
There would be soggy biscuits and mashed potatoes stuck to the ceiling.
Every day I'd come home with pieces of vegetables in my hair.
I wanted that job so bad b/c it started you off at $8.50 an hour and I thought that was a lot of money.
They only hired Chads and Staceys though but I got in b/c my friend told them to hire me.
Still wish I had asked out the pale titcow hostess.
When I quit I just stopped showing up for liek 3 weeks, then when I ran out of money I randomly called and asked for my schedule. The boss didn't remember who I was at first and when he finally did he just said "uhh....you don't work here anymore *CLICK*"
