I caught the janitor digging through the trash cans at work looking for food after office hours a few months back, so today for our office Christmas party I made sure to leave him as much food as he, and whatever family he has, can eat. I emptied out the break room fridge before I threw the rest of the leftovers from the party away, so I also ended up killing two birds with one stone. It feels good to help less fortunate and that feeling of satisfaction from knowing that I did the right thing is the best Christmas present I could ever ask for. Anyway, I am not a rich man by any stretch, but I do not live large and have a good savings balance, so I asked the cashier to take $100 out, pay for the gentlemans groceries and give him the change. The cashier asked if I was serious and I said yes, the old man was not paying attention and as I was walking away I heard him yell "wait", and then when I did not as I was tearing up he yelled "thank you".

The feeling is unmatched by any I have had in my life and when I get the opportunity to give, I do. Every time.

The tears were for my mother who died poor and of cancer as no one ever did this for her. And for a world full of faggots like you who prefer to talk about fake charity for the lolz, instead of actually making a positive difference in this shitty, indifferent world.

I bought a bus pass with the last of the money I scrounged together and for the past few weeks I've been taking the bus to a church that feed the homeless from noon to 1 during the week. They also gave me a jacket, a small sleeping bag and enough socks to get through winter but I still wish I had cleaner clothes. I mostly hang out at the mall right now while its still really busy. It's got everything I could want. Heating, running water, free outlets in the food court to charge my phone and and endless supply of used food to dig out of the trash. None of the employees seem to notice me yet and I've gone to other shopping centers to hang out and dig through their dumpsters too just to test the waters. When I'm not charging my phone, scrounging for food or walking around pretending to be a customer I'm browsing 4chan or looking at help wanted ads. In the evening I take the bus to a shitty neighborhood I used to live near that has a lot of abandoned houses and that's where I've been sleeping. It's kinda creepy hearing other people come and go while you're asleep but you get used to it. When I wake up I wait for the bus and do it all over again.
