i thought maybe you put a tiny bit in the bottom but apparently you don't put any at all unless you're making homemade potatoes to give them an actual fried texture on the outside
my chicken tendies came out really good too and the house doesn't stink like oil when i use it so it's pretty nice

No, its true! Bought one from an old lady at a yard sale and she told me everytime she used it there'd be smok everywhere. Only ran for 10 minutes at a time with no smoke. Stood there for a couple minutes of gogglin. Opened it up and looked at the oil catch at the bottom and there was probably a quarter cup of oil in it. Apparently if you cook food that is already really oily it'll build up and smoke as well.
