i always feel bad for the chicken. they get so mishandled by the guys stuffing them into the transport cages that they get broken wings. also a lot of the guys who work for slaughterhouses or massive farms are psychopaths that like to hurt animals. feels bad man

God put us into the world because we ate from the tree of knowledge and learnt right from wrong. We suffer because we must find our own way back to God.

it could be happening while they're being plucked or something, not necessarily while they're alive. but yeah, i'm not a vegan but stuff like that is why i still want lab-grown meat in stores. i don't mind too much if the animals are treated well and slaughtered as fast as possible with minimal stress, but i really hate when they're mistreated.

Have you guys gotten a bone tumor in your wing? It's fucking disgusting

lab grown meat is probably the single biggest hurdle for advancing quality of life we most immediately need to get over.
>cuts down dramatically on animal cruelty
>frees up huge tracts of land
>cuts on CO2 emissions immensely
>lowered transport costs because you can set up labs anywhere rather than needing farmland
>reduction in cruelty to animals increases the amount of animals you can grow meat from since ethical concerns are diminshed, can have venison without the need to hunt it or exotic alternatives like gator meat

It's weird and is not anything like normal meat, at least as far as consistency and taste goes. They grow fat and muscle cells in a nutrient matrix and then mix them together in typical hamburger 80/20 ratio. The result is pic related.

It's supposed to be pretty close to ground meat but making steaks or chicken breast is going to take a while longer. Still, even just having ground meat versions of it will be enough to make a fair number of different dishes.

some company was saying they'll have it in stores before the end of the year, but i don't know if that's going to hold up. i don't know if they'll sell to the public yet but it was still like $50/lb last time i checked i think. if that company doesn't keep up with their deadline then probably within the next few years it'll be in grocery stores.
