how do i become a coffee snob without spending a lot of money? i have an aeropress, a ceramic mill and buy single origin coffee beans

what words should i use to talk about coffee that won't betray me as an outsider and a fraud? should i buy something else? a decent expresso machine seems too much for preparing coffee, so don't expect me to spend more than $20 on something

You're already in snobbish territory. Make sure you proselytize local roasters and huff at the thought of corporate chains to everyone you meet

Why do you want to look like a minor coffee snob? For acceptance?

Only refer to the coffee in terms of extraction (over, under, balanced), use the word "mouthfeel", talk about flavor profiles. There's a whole vocabulary of snobbery

use buzzwords like; hario v60, pour-over heyman technique chemex, the wishi wandi method of the french pressing, upside down turntable aeropress method with single origin unique farm location beans, use any temperatures that are about +-20 degrees of water's actual boiling point when giving out recipes, james hoffman
