Imagine you're sick with chronic issues like kidney/liver disease. Doctor prescribes mountain grass, tree bark, goji berries, etc. No clinical trials, no published scientific findings, no list of active chemical compounds, just some shamnistic witch-doctor recipe for a mystery concoction you have to eat or drink to help you recover. But you don't recover, illness persists. But you believe in its healing effects anyway cuz you don't know what a placebo is.

Now imagine a whole country of millions like that. Each one just parroting what some other dumbass says about how this or that is good for your health, good for your virility, good for your gastro, or liver, or lungs, etc... without any of them really knowing how or why it's good, or even if it really is good or not.

Dont get me wrong, there are idiots in the US like that too, especially with the whole superfoods bs. But overall, there's much more scientific information available in the US and Europe, and more importantly people are more willing to do the research themselves into what they put in their bodies than an average Chinese would.

The Asian mart by me sells these small bottles of what I guess would be ginseng root ginger ale. Tastes kinda bitter but I can say besides weed it's the next best thing for a sore stomach, especially after a night of binge drinking.
