It should be a wreath or tree, so it's got some holiday symbolism. It's good right out of the fryer. Unlike crappy storebought donuts, there's a hint of lemon zest, wine, and other nice flavors, and there should be some expensive nuts in the honey drizzle.

Italian families would be doing these in the hours upon hours of family gathering after meals, just hanging out, someone doing the dishes from dinner while someone else is frying up a nice thing to present when done, and the next course is served. There would likely be some coffee coming out and other desserts too, but this would be the one bite or two centerpiece.
