What recipe remind you most of Grandma's? For me, its simple sliced fruit with granulated sugar sprinkled on it. Still eat bananas like this today.

Was your grams fromAppalaicha or the Ozarks, perchance? Mine was and for me, it was her fried chicken with cream gravy over mashed potatoes. Cannot be duplicated or bettered, no how, no way.

Ngoh hiang. It's a mixture of ground pork, water chestnuts, shiitake mushrooms and maybe some other things, wrapped in beancurd skin and fried. Most places overload it with starchy fillers, sadly.

Spaghetti with sausage
Plain spaghetti lightly fried in olive oil, topped with crumbled sausage cooked with some tomato and topped with feta cheese. Maybe with some slightly pickled shredded cabbage on the side

My grandma makes killer whole wheat sandwhich bread from scratch. Best in the goddamn world. I remember her putting butter and cinamon sugar on it straight out of the oven. It's a shame she luves in Utah and I can almost never visit because she ussually sends me packing with 3 loaves on the way home.

She was a pretty shitty cook other than her bread, but it far more than makes up for any shittyness.
