Allergies thread.

99% of allergies give just a little tummy rustle. As does alcohol. Is alcohol an allergy?

You could just be allergic to certain types of alcohol, Im fine drinking everclear and whiskey but champagne and brandy make me keel over with chest pain.

what i am trying to say is that there are few serious allergies (peanut, shellfish) and most of them are made up and / or insignificant in comparison to the effects of alcohol on your body while dining.

Different strokes for different folks. Simple fact is that patrons make up allergies because kitchens/cooks tend to take allergies more seriously than "I want X without the Y". Kitchens will just scrape cheese off of something for a no cheese modifier but if you tell them you're lactose intolerant they'll typically from-scratch something. They pay for the convenience of being about to lie about allergies and you can just shut up and deal with it.
