What fun things can I do with mustard? Mustard seeds? I have a mortar and pestle.

Dab it on your girlfriend's nipples and lick it off. Use Dijon or nice, Hot English.

I don't have a girlfriend, she left after I spent $1,500 on a mortar and pestle. I feel obligated to get use out of it now.

Not use Heinz mustard, for starters.

Yellow mustard is a much more versatile ingredient than it’s given credit for. A splash of it in a curry, sauce, or stirfry can add a really nice bit of acid/tang

Do you think I should use seed or powder for curries? I'm a sucker for chicken curry and mustard with that sounds good.

Get a proper mustard like, Colmans. Great on corned beef sandwiches

I use ground mustard seeds in my soups a lot, I toast them a bit first in a pan and then grind them in my mortar and pestle.
I use them for dry marinating pork.

Yellow mustard I use as a 'glue' for ribs so spices and rubs stick better.
It's more of a condiment tho, hence why it was invented in the first place.

I use dijon or grainy mustard for sauces, salad dressings, it goes well in a balsamic. Dips and of course it's good as a condiment.

You can make your own mustard with your mortar and pestle, just get a variety of mustard seeds, taost them up, grind them, and then just mix well with some apple cider vinegar, and salt and let it ferment for about a day or two.

Add some mustard seeds to your mortar. Crush them finely before adding liquid mustard. Congratulations, you just made super mustard!

Mustard glazed ham

>1 boiled ham
>3 tablespoons mustard
>1 egg
>½ deciliter sugar
>½ deciliter breadcrumbs

But why would you ever say 1/2 of anything when using metric units? That's just unnecessary because you can just move down a unit and be more precise, like saying 5 cL instead.

I know that cL are used for measuring packaged drinks in Western Europe, like 33 cL soda cans or 75 cL whiskey bottles. Eastern Europe and America seem to only use L and mL. I've never even seen a dL be used.

GOOD point, but I'm thinking of it in terms of the measuring equipment available.

If theirs is typically labelled in dL, then I don't see it as weird that they would use half-measurements the same way.
