Is it possible to replicate the taste of McDonald's at home?

depends.
fries are easy enough as they are basically just double fried.

I've found the Jimmy Dean's frozen breakfast sandwiches to be pretty close to McDonald's.

Homade mcfish is easy and actually taste better because it's fresh

>Kings hawiaan rolls
>American cheese
>Any frozen fish stick (breaded when fillets are better)
>Tarter sauce

You can make like 10 for half the price

Get the worst quality meat you can find and grind it into a paste, pack it with salt and preservatives, and then cook it without getting any color on the patty. Since most store-bought buns won't be sweet enough, be sure to shake an extra layer of sugar onto them. Get a shitload of lard or beef fat and melt it to fry sugar-coated fries, and then look for vegetables just past their expiration. Go to your local Starbucks and get a good dab of teenager spit and while you're at it, get some feces from the bathroom to really replicate that McDonald's worker experience. Oh and if you get Kraft singles you fucking failed, go to the dollar store for that shit.

Soggy fries? Don't talk about things you don't know anything about.

They use flavoring now, but the "secret" to McD's burger meat tasting the way it did ages ago was to have a ratio of like 30% beef lard to 70% veggie oil

According to some article I read, anyway

Either way, I figure if it can be replicated in thousands of places, it can be replicated at home

No. One may be able to replicate a simple McDouble or a McChicken. Or even possibly the Big Mac. But it is an impossible task to recreate the McFish... McDonald's secret formula is the very essence of indeterminate. The closest one may get is a bun with cheese. The patty, oh the sweet supple patty. You'd need to neutralize the McDonald's Fish Farms and catch one of their Prime Haddock. Then you'd need to prepare it masterfully - don't forget the perfect cuboidal shape. And who knows how they perfect that batter.
And worse yet, there's the McFish sauce. Now, this won't be a problem for me, as I've been stocking up on McChicken Sauce packets each time I visit McDonalds. But that's only half the battle. To strike the gentle blend of McDonald's Sweet Relish and McChicken Sauce achieved by the cunning McDonald's employees, you'd need to go through the training process yourself. In the end, one thing is clear. To truly replicate McDonald's number one fast food sandwich, one must first become the McDonald's themself.

There's also a precook step. If you have a sous vide it's really easy to do, 15 minutes in 170-degree water no bag necessary.

you forgot the crucial freezing step. You blanch the burger in the microwave, then freeze it for a day. Same with the fries. Then "cook" it for 5 minutes on a warm garbage can, et contrabass!

To replicate the taste and texture of McDee's patties add 40% of liver to the meat.

The main issue is you don't get that squishy gluey dense bun texture that McDonalds has nailed with store bought buns.
