Ham salad sandwiches can be pretty good. Important not to use too much mayonnaise though, that will completely ruin it. Also it's worth it to get expensive ham. My dad makes a good ham salad maybe once a year. I think it's more of a midwest thing, he's from Indiana and my mom's side is from Wisconsin, had a fair amount of ham salad sandwiches growing up.
