Huh, I know a lot of people complain about the "keto flu", but I never really got it. Ive been on and off keto for the last 2 years, I usually do it during spring and autumn when I wanna get in shape for a few months, but I never felt bad when I was switching diets. The only think I noticed is that my shits become watery when I switch to keto probably cos of all the grease and fiber from green veggies I consume, but I dont really mind it. Its so much easier to shit when on keto and I can just wipe my ass once or twice and its completely clean. When Im back on carbs and junk food shit, I waste like half a toilet paler per shit and my ass is still not clean so I have to wash it with water

I saw on a medical congress, a doctor saying that for some cancer, ketones made them thrive. I do believe that for most, keto may be helpful, though. what are they trying to say? Are they saying that one bowl of rice with a meal is equal to the one can of "sweetened beverage" a diabetic drinks? You only get it if you haven't been in ketosis recently (year or so). If you aren't type 2 diabetic or prediabetic then you likely go into mild ketosis every night, so your body has the biochemical pathways set up already. If you are type 2 diabetic or prediabetic then your insulin is so high that it keeps you out of ketosis and your body stops making the chemicals and cellular machinery you need to burn large amounts of ketones and triglycerides. This causes a hiccup when switching from burning carbs to burning ketones and triglycerides, and the side effects of this contribute mightily to the keto flu.

>> No.11535999

>>11534472
I'm gonna need a citation for that, because I think you misunderstood what he was saying. Afaik all cancer cells are fermenting and need sugar to survive - they cannot run on ketones, at least not for all their needs, some cancers retain modest residual ability to utilize ketones. Keto diets are enough to suppress some cancers but not all, because keto diets don't drive your blood sugar low enough to starve the cancer of its gkucose needs. So those "keto resistant" cancers could be said to "thrive" in ketosis, but no more than they "thrive" on a high carb diet.
Fasting suppresses lots more cancers than keto diets because it drops your blood sugar much lower, your blood sugar can get down into the 30's on an extended fast, and this really puts the hurt on most cancers.
