When can we finally replace food workers with robots?

When these mega corps are forced to pay their workers a living wage they'll bite the bullet and automate the process in no time. Right now it's not worth it since they can still pay slave wages

Actually Japan is likely to lead the way. There is a huge shortage of low wage workers there. Convenience stores are starting to close early because they can't find people willing to work the night shift. The will welcome their new robot overlords with open arms.

I've lived and worked both places, and America is not much better. In some ways it is worse. It's certainly the worst of the East.

> In a typical year the average American works 100 more hours than a Briton, 300 more than a French employee and 400 more hours than a German.

Some new studies show Americans actually work more than Japanese in hours, I question how this data is collected though because both Americans and Japanese work a lot of unpaid hours.

Nominal wages haven't risen in the past 30 years and neither have the skills involved in making burgers
If $1 in 1970 is worth $6 today, where is all of that extra money going to?
It's definitely not going into the company because the food hasn't actually improved, it's not going into the restaurants, it's not being used to hire actually pleasant workers, it's not going into any benefit packages for the employees

I wonder where the extra $5 are going?

You still think restaurants are paying 1970's prices for wholesale beef?
