people think I'm pretending or being a hipster, when I ask for black coffee but I actually just enjoy the pure taste.

The addiction comes into play with sugar. And in my experience people are usually threatened when someone doesn't have the same addiction as them. Same reason why all the drunks you know get on your case about not pounding enough drinks back at their party or your pothead friends are constantly trying to change your mind about weed.

I don’t drink milk so I never have it, and almond milk is fucking DISGUSTING in coffee. If the opportunity arises however I do enjoy a nice Vietnamese style coffee with sweetened condensed milk.

I don't like it black, but I also don't like it with sugar, a little bit of half and half is perfect for me, to me it adds flavor to the coffee without overpowering the taste and making it less bitter.

True for me at least. A typical day I drink a lot of coffee, 5 big cups or more. But when my wife isn't home I can't even be arsed to make a pot. I don't notice much of a difference if I skip coffee for a week compared to guzzling down 1.5 liter daily. And yeah, wouldn't sully my coffee with sugar. Never have. A dash of real cream or a bit of liquorice powder is nice, but I don't use that stuff very often either.

The entire place was filled with such bizarre people in the best possible way.
One arab would just stand in a chair room looking at attack helicopters, meth smoking polish chef that has been on the lowest possible position in the kitchen for several years, cloak room dindu who would call everyone a G, guy from south Italy that would sing rasta songs, manlet twins who always wore 2 inch platform shoes or a gipsy guy that would refer to himself in 3rd person and many others. Mind you this was place with a waiting list and quite large sum of money per month just to be able to step in. Various famous people were there for dinners and business breakfasts, we just called them cockroaches. Really cool memories desu.
