Why are there no fucking drinks left that aren't sugary bullshit?
What do I drink if I want to avoid sugar at all costs?

Gin & tonic is a good example. It's supposed to be bitter tasting. Nope. Tonic water these days has so much added sugar it's basically just slightly bitter tasting lemonade.
I went to a "cocktail bar" recently and every single cocktail was sugar. Finally after flicking through I found an old fashioned, but it was sugared up and ruined too. He made it with fucking sugar syrup water even after I told him the ingredients sounded way too sugary and he said he'd make me a more traditional one.

It didn't deserve to be called an Old Fashioned. Even the people I was drinking with who were sipping fruity red cocktails thought it tasted of gross sugar water.

Why don't you stay home and make your own drinks, you massive faggot? I can't stand picky shits like you, if you have such a strong opinion that no one else is going to do anything well enough for you, then stay at home and make your own mixed drinks. For fuck's sake, you're a massive crybaby and stupid to boot. A classic Old Fashioned is made with simple syrup. That's just what it is.

>be OP
>order a drink
>complain when I receive exactly what I ordered

>> No.11487433

An old fashioned has sugar, by definition. Tonic water has sugar, by definition. There are multiple brands of tonic water, not all of them are just sprite with a tiny bit of quinine.

Make your own cocktails or stop going to shitty dive bars if you're having a problem with the ratios. This is the booze equivalent of going to Denny's over and over again and complaining about the food.

Scotch and soda, then.

Tequila isn't that sugary
Gin
Some of the Irish whiskeys

Instead of cocktails, drink it straight. Most people don't like the "burn" of alcohol so they try and mask it with flavorful (sugary) things.

Man up and get that shit neat.

It's muddled with a small amount of brown sugar for flavour.
Not using the same sugar syrup bullshit people add to coffees.

I want a drink I can get anywhere including dive bars, that won't be sugary shit.
Dive bars aren't exactly where you go get neat whiskey but fuck it I may just give up on mixed drinks and take whatever shitty whiskey they got on the rocks or stick to wine & beer or something

Some people use brown sugar but most places make OFs with simple syrup. When I say "most," I mean straight 99% of places, including very nice cocktail bars, will make it with simple syrup because brown sugar is hard to keep (dries out extremely fast) and the simple syrup is much easier to blend into the cocktail as it's already liquid, plus it's something any bar already has on hand for other drinks like mojitos.

Just admit that you don't know fuck all about cocktails and you're being a whiny pretentious cunt about it trying to look cool and tough. Soda water has no sugar, faggot, or just man up and drink straight. Buy a beer. There's a fuckton of options yet you're complaining about simple syrup in an OF.
