Knob Creek or Woodford Reserve. Honestly it's been awhile since I've had a good bourbon so my memory is a bit foggy. Right now I'm drinking some Templeton Rye but I dont think that qualifies
>Scotch
Same with Bourbon. I like Scotch a lot, but I cant remember the last one I really liked and remembered.
>Rum
Captain Morgan I guess. I only use Rum for mojitos so I dont really care that much.
>vodka
Russian Standard or Grey Goose

Carlos Primero, (great Spanish Brandy)

Maybe a Cognac or Armagnac. Might also try and Ice Wine. Been curious about those for awhile.
>$50 for mixers
The only mixed drinks I have are Bloody Mary's and mojitos. Buy the stuff for that and fold the rest into the other categories because I'm probably over budget in at least one area

imagine being such a tastelet, there is more variety of flavor within the world of rum than any other form of spirit, try a Jamaican rum and a Puerto Rican rum side by side, there is also a massive variety of radically different styles of rum

Bourbon
>Jim Beam Repeal Batch

Scotch
>Glenmorangie 10

Rum
>Diplomatico Rum Reserva Exclusiva (it's like 32 bucks, if you're going to be strict to under 30 then Plantation Original Dark)

Vodka
>St.George All Purpose Vodka

Tequila
>Espolon Reposado

Wildcard 1
>St.George's Bruto Americano (better than Campari or Aperol

Wildcard 2
>a decent Curacao, either Pierre Ferrand or Cointreau if you prefer it sweeter

extras: Woodford Reserve Spiced Cherry Bitters, Regan's Orange Bitters, Angostura Bitters, pineapple juice and a bunch of citrus

the Repeal Batch is extremely solid for only $12, rumors are it's a less aged Booker's, I work in a distillery, we spend a significant amount of time keeping up with most new releases and the Repeal Batch is a seriously impressive product

>>11472441
I've tried many scotches and many rums, all Scotch comes from a relatively small area while Rum is produced in highly distinctive regional varieties in just about every single country where sugarcane grows, there's a reason Rum is making a massive surge in popularity in the spirits world, because people are realizing it's massive variety and flavor potential. There is a sharper contrast in flavor between an Rum agricole and a Jamaican pot still rum than there is between an Islay and Speyside scotch for instance

Seriously, go try it, try an agricole style rum, compared to a dark Jamaican pot still

LOL Leaf here, liquor prices are so high that you literally can't buy a single bottle of anything for $30 besides beer. For context, in my neck of the woods, a fifth (750ml) of basic Bulleit Bourbon is $37.80
