Mama brand is really good, that's the only one that I don't drain off before adding the flavor packet to. Some of them make a really decent soup base. Not that I can't do that myself but sometimes someone just has to say "What The Fuck?" <<<--- Quote from Risky Business.

Had one of those last night for the first time. I'm not sure if I cooked it wrong or something or if I took too long eating it, but I made it, put it in a bowl and let it cool for a few minutes, and when I came back it was still hot but the noodles absorbed all the water and the soup turned into a bright red paste. I couldn't bring myself to finish it.

Some lightly fried minced garlic, finely minced scallions, juliennded ginger, nori, soft boiled egg and pork or chicken, and you've got a legit noodle soup. I was impressed with the broth and noodle quality. I've only ever seen this product, does Nongshim make other instant noodle flavors? I tried looking at my local asian market, but the variety of products in different moon runes is overwhelming.

Also, anyone tried pic related? I'm very curious.

These are the best instant noodles ever, they're from Taiwan and are very inexpensive, but they have a real thick good noodle texture, and ACTUAL BEEF that's not dried, it comes in a giant sauce packet, and actually tastes indistinguishable from freshly stewed beef. If you served this to someone and told them it was from a restaurant, they'd have no idea they were instant from a cup.

Shin Ramyun is pretty damn good. I like the shrimp flavor of this brand I forgot the name of a little more though. (Still buy Shin Ramyun when I get the chance tho)

ok good to know it wasnt just nostalgia that made me think they taste differently now, they almost taste watered down and generally less flavorful than I remember.

>>11463988
these i buy all the time. they are only like 40 cents a bag at my local asian market so i stop by to stock up on mi goreng and ube crackers pretty frequently. love the hot and spicy ones too though.
close second is pic related. only in pork flavor but i fucking love the pork maruchan

i buy them when they are on sale super cheap. my local store sometimes gets them as low as 5 for a buck. not great but i'll down o ne between gaming sessions or when i have the drunk munchies. wouldn't eat one for an actual meal unless poverty kicked in harder than normal.

I picked this up from a 711 in another town. It was a bit pricer but holy shit was it ever good, tasted authentic. The udon noodles were also a great quality (I would know, I make homemade udon soup pretty regularly.)

i like keeping only a minimum amount of the water in it before adding the packet so you get a stronger flavour

i'm like that with almost all my ramen except really shitty ramen like maruchan. i know it's gimmicky but i have one of those rapid ramen cookers and i kinda love it for indome or whatever flavor of the month ramen i grab at the asian market because it leaves barely any water. though i know its a stupid gimmick product. to be fair i got mine on clearance for like 1.50$

Lotta good ramen here, feel kind of sad that I've tried almost all of them, even the rare ones like that Nissin Raoh, the Prima Laksa (excellent but probably overrated, the calories are out of control because they come with basically a can's worth of dehydrated coconut milk,) and the Budae Jigae. Pic related are my new favorite, all the Chongqing Noodles are good but these are the best. Noodles have a bunch of starch on them that can get kind of slimy in an egg drop soup way, but holy shit they're tasty. Samyang fire chicken line is a close second. The OP 2x ones are kind of gratuitously spicy, but sometimes you just want the flavor of pain. I think Mala is my favorite of the ones I've tried.
