What recipes can I get lazy and depressed people to cook of any quality? I've been cooking in my home for 12 years and now that I'm too busy my family that promised to step up just lay around and cook the same two meals. Cook is putting it mildly. A salad from the bag with chicken cooked in the oven and a pasta with a sauce of ragu and sausage. I'm eating out and eating overpriced garbage because I can't get a decent meal and I'm far too tired to cook.

Spaghetti aglio e olio.

The only part that takes any time is prepping the garlic and boiling the water.
Any retard with basic knife skills can have this on a plate and in their stomach within 20 minutes of starting.

Just get a slow cooker. Make big batches, and reheat them later.

pick the foods you'd like to eat and start looking for simple ways to prepare them, related cooking "hacks" etc

I wanted to eat fish so I boiled filets with vegetables because I simply didn't have the energy to prep shit separately, it turned out surprisingly good I just had to salt them afterwards

This time of year I'd say baked chicken with baked butternut or acorn squash on the side. Shakshuka is cheap and easy all year round, but if they're as bad as you're describing I'm worried they would find a way to screw it up. If you're resorting to eating out anyway then you could just order Blue Apron boxes, since that will be about the same price.

Al dente. Meaning, it should still have a small bite to it.
