What is the single most complex meal you have ever attempted?

Lasagna, gyoza, pizza, bread. Basically anything with dough. It's easy to make it edible but it takes a while to make it consistently good every time. I wouldn't say those are complex though. I've never made a complex dish I suppose.

I have made the sandwich in your webm, turned out pretty good, though I did make one change, I used a loaf of take n bake garlic bread for the bun.

I made fesenjan yesterday. It's not the most complex dish, but it was difficult to get some of the ingredients, like pomegranate molasses. Didn't turn out as amazing as previous posts about it suggested, but that's probably because I need some more practice with it. I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Did they turn out alright? I've always been curious if his recipes were practically achievable in a home setting, but never enough to have a shot myself.

Heston Blumental's trifle from the In Search of Perfection tv show. Took 2.5 days to make.

not the guy you responded to but it really depends on the dish; some are more practical than others. just pick one that seems doable to you and give it a go.

It made 6 servings though. The flavors were so intense that you didn't need or want a big serving.

Reading this post I am picturing a massive lard hanging back in a chair that can barely hold him, with its left hand in a bag of candy and a burger in the other hand, taking alternating mouthfuls from both of them.

Cooking all the sides for thanksgiving. There's a reason I only do it once a year.

The most complex thing I've made is cinnamon rolls.

As for full meals, I have always made really simple stuff like rice + veggies + meat. The most intensive meal I've made is probably spaghetti with my own tomato sauce.

Chicken tikka masala. Million different spices but it turned out nice.

>novice cook fresh outta high school
>want to impress gf for anniversary
>find some weird Thai-Congo chicken peanut berbere curry recipe online
>no berbere at local stores to make that too
>process took a day of planning and like twice as long to cook than any other curry I've tried since
>gf falls in love with dish
>pesters me for the recipe from time to time
>still mentions it from time to time six years later
>don't have the heart to tell her I lost it right after the first batch
It was really good stuff, and I normally hate my own cooking
