So... You can just walk into a hotel and eat breakfast for free?

Literally just strolled in through the front door, said good morning to the front desk lady, and went to town on a breakfast buffet. Waffles, eggs, homefries, all kinds of stuff.

Why don't more people scam them this way? What's the catch?

I work in hotels, it depends on the location but homeless people and shady non-guests doing this is a real problem. In many cases it's impossible for staff to really tell who is or is not a guest, but obviously if you look and smell like shit, someone will (eventually) ask you what your room # is

While I would prefer that you NOT steal food from Hotels, i'm not under delusion I can stop you. So let me explain how to do this while causing the least amount of trouble.

>1. Know your mark
Not every hotel offers free breakfast, or any breakfast at all. These things are generally separated by brand, so research ahead of time: every chain has multiple brands offering differing varieties of amenities. Generally you want to aim for the 3 star select service area, with some place with a complimentary continental breakfast.

But not every hotel is the same, especially thanks to franchises. Some hotels will issue vouchers to guests which they use to 'pay' for breakfast, or require a swipe of their room key to get food. This is most likely at high volume, larger hotels in urban area's. If you can, do preliminary scouting and googling.

>2. Come Early
Breakfast will usually start at 6 or 7 am, management usually won't be in until 8 or 9 am because they're lazy fucks. Show up at the start of service and it's likely only kitchen staff, the overnight desk, and maybe a houseman or two there. Spoilers: we don't give a fuck as long as you don't cause trouble or aren't a noticeable disturbance to the other guests, we don't want trouble

>3. Be Clean
Looking and smelling like shit is a pretty big and immediate indicator you're just some homeless dude.

>4. Get your food and go
The longer you linger, the more likely you'll get marked. Either eat swiftly, or just grab some stuff to go, and then go down a hallway. Every hotel will have multiple side entrances and exits, and this makes it look like you're heading up to a room.

Front desk in front of the entrance, and right in front of the front desk is the entrance (basically just an open wall) to the breakfast area. The motel has practically full view but the hotel kinda turns in so its not possible for them to see you.

Neither one asks for your cards, but I've seen a lot of people come in to get free shit. I've only been asked once by a coworker about one of them (ironically a kid who I told could do it) and I told them his dad was oilfield. That excuse would probably work for you underage posters.

Nearly every hotel breakfast I've had in years, required literal meal tickets that housekeeping dropped off the day before, or I was given at checkin. The exceptions involved room cards and a guest list.
There was always someone at the entrance to the dining room, or if it was a small enough hotel, maybe serving food or the cook or something. They'd ask for your ticket as soon as you went in, or your card or room number and cross you off a list of people who booked a room-rate with breakfast included.

Aside from it being kind of difficult to do because there's usually staff checking your ticket/room, most people aren't going to risk a theft charge for breakfast. Lots of hotels have a security guard on duty.
Also, people just don't generally need to steal breakfast that badly. Who lives at home and goes out to steal breakfast? Why?

That is their choice. It is written in paper. You are agreeing to these terms when you agree to rent out a room. Taking something without permission is thievery. ITT: People call Hampton Inn and Motel 6 "hotels".

An actual hotel with breakfast doesn't really suffer from this problem. Motels (Holiday Inn, Hamton Inn, Drury Inn, etc.) are the one that have "free breakfast" that's stolen by niggers.

First of all, it's not free. It's complementary with a paid stay. Every guest is paying for it whether they take it or not. Each franchise has a pretty good idea of what percentage of guests will take the "free" dog-shit breakfast.

I spent 72 nights in the same Hilton Garden Inn in one year. 20% of my fucking life that year. I was usually on a graveyard shift, so I'd be rolling in at about 0600 just as breakfast was starting. I'd grab some yogurt, a banana, maybe some oatmeal, and that was about it. Sometimes I'd sit there and chat with the girls who worked there. (Amanda H. liked to be choked while taking it in the ass, BTW.)

There was one baby-mama who worked there, and came in at 0630 every day. Baby-daddy would wheel up to the portico and leave the POS Ghetto-Sled Oldsmobuick running. He'd come in and load up 3-4 styrofoam clamshells with eggs (a whole clamshell of eggs alone), bacon, sausage, bread, whatever wasn't nailed down. He'd take all this shit back to the sled and roar off. Every. Goddamn. Day.

I talked to the manager about it once. He said, "Well, she's a single mom and he watches her kids while she's at work." What a naive piece of shit Tim O'Leary was, and I'm sure still is.

Black can do this, they just have to wear decent clothing, and talk like a normal boring suburbanite business person would.
The only issues come in areas with major demographic problems were hotel staff learn to racially profile people and their clothing to keep out the riff raff.

I used to do door security at a place. There was a black guy who worked for one of the unions, and I always had to take a second look when he came in. I’m fairly certain he thought I was profiling him just because he was black. It was actually because he was a similar height and build, and had similar facial hair and wore similar clothing to a guy who had come in and robbed the place a number of times during business hours.
There were other black people on staff who I didn’t have to take a second look at, because they looked distinct ir different wnough that I could recognize them while they were still a few sets of glass doors away.

There are some hotels I've stayed at, usually extended stay places for work that have little commissarys or little stores in them filled with stuff. It's totally honor system, put stuff in a basket and fill out a card stated what you got and put that in a box. They'll just add it to your bill later. That kind of stuff is pretty cool especially late at night or way early in the morning.

A lot of hotels don't have kitchens in them and some folk roll out of bed drunk and want to eat something, so a breakfast included in the room rate is useful sometimes. It's usually real simple stuff but there's nothing wrong with that.

hard boiled eggs
oranges
bananas
little boxes of cerial
waffles
pancakes
grapes

It depends, if you want some five star stuff you''re gonna pay for five star stuff.

Some extended stay places have pretty full kitchens in the rooms but then they usually don't need to have buffets or a staff to do breakfast buffets. I did stay in one place in NY that had an immaculate kitchen in the room, I was only stay there for a couple days so wasn't really worth the effort to stock the place up.

We kicked out a guy from our hotel and he was pissed when he found out the same guy owned all 4 hotels in town and had banned him from the others and their attached hotel chains.

I think the problem with airbnb is that it's unregulated. I mean if I'm staying at a hotel that means I don't want to have to be artificially friendly with strangers that I'm staying with, I can come and go as I please and all hours, and can bring a girl with me, don't have to worry too much about weirdos with hidden cameras, weirdos going through my stuff... the list goes on and on.

I can understand the use for airbnb, mostly for tourists who just want a place to chill out.

A couple more advantages to a hotel is that one can chat up the conciage to find out where to get good weed, and if I get there late at night and don't know the area I can maybe get some room service. Mostly that stuff is paid for by companies, so there's no out of the pocket expense.

I worked at a Hampton Inn doing night audit for about a year.

>Yeah, the food is low quality shit.
>No, we'd never check room keys or ask your room number.
>I had people come in and straight up tell me they weren't guests of the hotel, but asked if I cared if they had breakfast. I did not give a fuck. Go fill up.
>Even if I suspected someone was eating and wasn't a guest there, policy was to not do anything about it unless they're causing a scene about it.

In summation, at least at a Hampton Inn, you can walk in off the street and go have their breakfast. Just try to act like you belong and nobody will say anything.

Also, for the more niggarly of you out there, here's another "steal from a hotel" tidbit.
>Hampton Inn has a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
>If you are not completely satisfied with your stay FOR ANY REASON, by policy, they have to refund you.
"Good morning. I'm checking out. There was a draft from the window last night. I was mildly cool. I want my money back."

They will try to satisfy you with things like candy bars or restaurant gift cards, but if you push it, they HAVE to refund your money. Any reason at all. I had a guy tell me his wife's snoring kept him up all night and he blamed our pillows.
>"I'm sorry sir. I'll refund the $139 to your card right away."

I approached one of the hotel people and asked if the homeless looking fellow was staying there, they approached the guy, and surprise surprise he was just trying to get free food, he even begged them to let him have something while he was escorted out, lmao.
Bottom line, I dont care if its 2$ shitty food, I had to pay for it and so do you.
