This was fine dining as a kid and it was pretty decent. I don't know why the /ck/ man babies complain about it but then they complain about everything.

it's chicken tendies, mozzarella sticks, and bacon cheeseburgers, of course it was fine dining for a little kid.

The problems started when they tried to update their image to appeal to grown millennials, and started revolving their menu around "pub grub" style shit like street tacos. Same goes for other casual dining places like Chili's

For many Americans, casual dining like applebee's in the 80's and 90's was fine dining especially if you were lower class up to middle middle class. It wasn't just a little kid thing. It was a family thing.

they got passed by. way back when applebees was fancy, now with the internet and ingredient availability people can cook better food at home for themselves. also there's more and more fast casual places that have better food without the annoying ambience of terrible music and shit all over the walls. i dont blame them for trying the change the menu and theme but they went about it all wrong.

First there is no such thing as a good internet recipe and only a tastelet would believe otherwise.

Ingredient availability hasn't changed for the past 20-30 years. The only difference is now people are clued into what existed in their local supermarket all along.

The one in my town used to be decent, but then they got a new manager and became very rachet.

It may have changed in extremely rural communities but any community with a large chain supermarket hasn't seen the change you speak of zoom-zoom.

Internet recipes are good because you can get a basic idea of how I make anything. Then if you actually know how to cook, you tweak it to make it good.

A bad recipe is like learning something the wrong way. It usually takes years before you realize you are doing it wrong.
