I really do like the crunch. I don't know. I'll always take a stable hard taco over a soft taco, say one wrapped in a soft taco or just a good shell.
But if it's a generic shell that will crack into pieces while I'm trying to eat, I'd probably prefer the soft taco.

Soft. If you want the crunch, try putting tortilla strips or crunched up tortilla chips in your taco. Or just dump your taco fillings on a plate of tortilla chips. All hard tacos do is create a problem that doesn't need to exist.
