It's not a fucking sandwich, I don't care about what all you fucking newfags say. A hot dog is PHYSICALLY not a sandwich because it is structurally different from all other sandwiches. Go look at a picture of a hot dog and then a picture of something like a grilled cheese or a PB&J. They don't have the same shape at all.
I did research on this topic and I found, what I believe to be, the proper way to determine what is and what isn't a sandwich.
The Sandwich Index the Atlantic created consisted of four points: "To qualify as “a sandwich,” a given food product must, structurally, consist of two (2) exterior pieces that are either separate or mostly separate; Those pieces must be primarily carbohydrate-based—so, made of bread or bread-like products; The whole assemblage must have a primarily horizontal orientation (so, sitting flush with a plate rather than perpendicular to it); and the whole assemblage must be fundamentally portable." I wholeheartedly agree with this index and the hot dog fails the orientation test. It is vertical, and it looks nothing like other sandwiches.
I rest my case. A hot dog is not a fucking sandwich. Get over it you fucking zoomers. And a pop tart is a ravioli.
