Traveling to Austria and some of its surrounding countries in December. Am I stuck eating Schnitzel the whole time (Not really a bad thing) or is there some finer food to be had in the part of the country?

They are basically germans with a funny accent, so order what you would order in germany. Just like those swampgermans, but their food is atrocious. They are all rightful german clay anyway just like Elsaß-Lothringen.

Honestly I was slightly baffled too by the lack of Austrian kitchen when I went there. Keisersmarrn were cool but it's mainly desert. But since their main dish is whacked, dry, flat, fried, 2 minute meal, meat, you're better of in the Czech Republic and Germany for cool new food experiences.
