You get an earlier season in most places. Which can lead to better game. But in my state now season is the same as blackpowder season. And I would much rather use a 50 caliber blackpowder rifle than a bow.

I used to use a bow all the time as a kid. The only thing my dad ever bought me was a giant fucking recurve bow when I was 10. My dad hated me, it was probably to make me think I was weak.

I loved that bow though and got a longbow and a composite before I turned 18. I was really good at shooting bows. But my dad never took me hunting with him and my brother. So by the time I learned how to hunt, I knew how faggoty bow hunters were. So I never wanted to bow hunt.
