We went through this the last time you reposted this same thread. Detroit pizza sucks just like Detroit sucks. Too square and not enough sauce. There's a reason Cleveland's city motto is "At least it's not Detroit!"

Third best thing about Detroit. The other two are Superman ice cream and techno starting out there.

There was a thread on it the other day and I ordered a speciality pan for it. Watched a few videos. Looked good. I'll take pics when it comes in and post in a cook thread. Looks like a nice simple meal to impress a date

The fact that it comes in a square isn't even the definitive characteristic of Detroit style plebe

But to answer your question, op, it's fucking trash. The poster that I am replying to is half right. Even in Michigan, very few restaurants sell Detroit-style. Why? Cause it's just not a great pizza style. Putting the sauce on top of a pizza that is meant to be eaten by hand is some low iq turd burgaler shit. It makes the pizza very messy and you basically are resigned to eating the pizza by fork and knife, less you are a barbarian. Chicago style can, contrarily, be eaten with a fork and knife because it is literally a big casserole.

Detroit pizza has plenty of sauce, or should, you need it considering how thick the crust is and how much cheese you should use. Literally everything has to go up in proportion bruh, other than toppings which are distributed the same.

Wrong....the two major chains in Michigan are Jet's and Little Caesars, both of which offer it and at one, pretty much people only serve it. The two most well known Michigan "sit down" places are probably Cloverleaf and Buddy's, both of which specialize in it.

Might be a moron, and a pussy, but he's right. Detroit "style" is not defined by the shape (there are other styles of square pizza too) but the crust, or rather lack thereof of a crust, which is what makes it the best pizza. Half the world throws out their fucking crust for a reason.
