I love wine but it has one big downside that the quality varies extremly.. You can't go for the cheap stuff it's almost guaranteed to taste terrible and make your sick if you drink the whole bottle. I love a good fresh beer too though, and with beer even the cheap stuff isn't too bad and usually won't make you sick unless you drink three liters of piss or something. Mead and Sake are stuff I love from time to time, but still relatively expansive compared to beer.

Just stick to Spain and France and even the cheap stuff is alright quality. For American wine you have to get pretty spendy because Americans consider wine to be something "fancy", and anything inexpensive is basically aimed at bums, hobos, and retards.

I spent a year doing keto--wine is NOT "0 carb". The carb amount correlates to the dryness. A dry wine has fewer carbs, but still carbs, since it's still essentially aged grape juice. The only "0 carb" alcohols are unflavoured spirits like vodka, or bourbon that are over 40% alcohol by volume. If you like the oaky taste of dry red wine, I would suggest a blended Scotch. If you like sweet red wine, I would suggest Irish or bourbon.

Personally, although I like all whiskies, a cheap bourbon is still the best flavour and amount of drunkenness you can get dollar for dollar from any alcohol, bar none.
