what would happen if you knock over the entire wine shelf at a store (lets say walmart)? what if you can't pay for it?

>> No.11272055

You are forced to pay off your debt by sexually pleasuring all of the female employees for a period of three years.

If it was an accident then you go home embarrassed. If you did it on purpose then criminal charges and maybe a lawsuit.

This is what happens. One time as a kid I dropped a bulk jar of pickles.

There's a big difference between one jar and most of the jars.

Nothing will happen to you. They have insurance.

>> No.11272384

The store probably has insurance that covers it though they might have to pay higher rates afterwards for the same service.

that jar probably only costs 50 cents to manufacture

>> No.11272412

>>11272382
That's even worse. The more insurance claims you make, the higher your annual insurance cost becomes. And insurance companies never lose out. They know how to receive more than they have to pay. It's their entire business model.

If it was an accident, they don't expect you to pay it.

Granted, this is for big companies. I can't say anything for small liquor stores run by Asians.

>> No.11272481

We have laws in the UK to protect customers from the cost of accidental breakage, but not intentional. If it was an accident nothing would happen to you. I assume in the US you get sent to a private moon prison to work off your dept, but you never do because the cost of your rocket trip up there is added to you sentence so you just die alone thousands of miles from your loved ones.

I'm actually posting from an American moon prison right now. The part of the Trump administration they don't want you to see.

They don't hesitate to call the police. Their own security is there as well. I sat on a 1 day jury duty which ended up being a case for a WalMart"alleged" shoplifter. Trust me when they have a 100% prosecution shoplifter policy for any crap that goes on in their store and will even up the value to hit the $200 mark to make sure it's free state proscecuters trying the case, and that cameras covered the crime down to HD level expressions on your face. I would maintain your accident happens kind of mindset with tons of apology and horror, but just know anything you do damage in a store is part of your responsibility. If you are a klutz, you should wide berth anything you could fall on or don't even go to stores like that.

Walmart loses way more shit from bottles just breaking on transit or by dumb employees. You won't be held accountable unless you actually make an effort to break stuff which is then vandalism.

Was delivering some produce one time to a shitty hyvee with shitty narrow back room paths. Broke a jar of pickle on their produce storage and manager came out to talk shit but couldn't confront me because he was a fatty high horse fuck who does nothing but sit in the office. Worked at a wine store in the US. We had a guy on crutches slip and fall into a wine display, breaking dozens of bottles. We apologized to him and paid to clean his suit. We later had a kid climb onto the same (rebuilt) display and knock part of it over, we hassled his shitty parents into paying for damages because they were letting him run all over the store. Basically comes down to the circumstances of how it happens.
