i'll be making chili tomorrow for the first time /ck/. I have the ground beef, and most essential spices. What else should I get?

Peppers. Ancho chili peppers and jalapenos, fresh. Adds a bit more substance. Plus you can reserve some chopped jalapenos for garnish for more heat if you want it.

The anchors dont need it and core the jalapenos for less heat if you want. Either way is perfectly fine. I usually core only the jalapenos and roughly cut up the ancho so you get nice ancho chunks and small jalapeno pieces. Also dont forget an onion. I like using yellow/sweet onions for chili.

A good beef stock, a good bottle of Gnarly Head Zinfandel wine and fresh tomatoes. Brown your meat and veg, deglaze with the wine and let reduce until it's a sticky syrup. Add the beef stock and let reduce once more. Meanwhile, quarter and cook the tomates, blitz and pass through a sieve and then add to the chili base.

this is the best chili i've ever made and it's gonna get some fags pretty mad

>jalapenos
>red chili or cayenne
>chili powder
>cumin
>pink himalayan salt
>fresh and powdered garlic
>large vidalia onion
>can of crushed tomatoes
>can of tomato paste
>can of kidney beans
>can of black beans
>can of corn :^)
