Not vegan or vegetarian but I think both are just trying to make the most ethical choices given their circumstances. I don't think most vegans buy into the idea that "exploitation" of animals is unethical, they just find it hard to find dairy or eggs that meet their ethical standards. Even as a meat eater I make some effort, though not nearly enough, to buy meat, milk and eggs from places
where animals are treated humanely.

Dwarf bucks are on sale here for $250. Pretty expensive per pound. I’d rather get a Boer cross or something like that for that same amount if I was going to eat it. I think I would sell my bucks for $100, though. I’m also only going to keep one milk goat, so I shouldn’t have 100 goats I need to get rid of at any moment or issues with being able to be discriminate against buyers who just want them for meat.

You get around 2 extra goats you have to reboot lactation. Which means killing animals is a prerequisite for milk consumption. Don't really see the point in avoiding the meat if you drink the milk. Morally it's a lost cause and avoiding saturated fat as well.

Okay or I could literally just bottle feed the kids if they’re drinking all the milk. Still, we’re talking about little itty bitty thirty-pound goats here. Lets say you reboot milking 4 times over the age of the doe ... then you have on average 9 goats to feed for every single one you're milking, plus the non producing does as they get too old. So lets make that an even 10.

Okay, I guess it's possible to keep a herd of sterilized goats just so you can have 1 or 2 milk producers ... that's going to be expensive milk though. Even with your own grazing land there is the opportunity cost of not using it more productively.

PS. whatever you do, don't sell them to dark foreigners. At least if you butcher them yourself they get a clean headshot before being bled, instead of a rusty knife to the throat after being hung up.
