Anyone else have trouble digesting these? Whenever I eat them, my shits are messy and smell like peppers.

My skin gets fucked up if I eat them. Irritated and small clusters of pimples for a day or two after. Happens with potatoes and chili peppers too. You might have a nightshade sensitivity like I do.

Anyone who's a human does, yes. Most of the reason why vegetables are promoted as a "health food" is because the most significant modern health problem is easily obesity, and human GI tracts can't digest the majority of plant material. Which is great if you're fat since it's another way of saying you get to trick yourself into eating without really digesting most of it.

Cooked and fermented vegetables digest a lot more easily. But even eating raw vegetables still gives some nutrition and benefits.

Nightshades are more likely to cause issues than other vegetables though.

You can kind of fake-digest a small amount of plant matter through bacteria in the colon. Normal human enzymatic digestion doesn't handle cellulose or other sorts of insoluble fiber at all though.

That’s why I eat styrofoam peanuts in pasta sauce.

Interesting. Been eating nightshades the past week and have been getting little pimples on my forearms. Gotta do some tests now, starting next week when I'm not eating tater tots as a staple food.

I mostly get them on my face but I think they appear on my forearms sometimes too. If it turns out that they're causing the issue, it kind of sucks but sweet potatoes are still okay for me, along with other root vegetables like carrots, turnips, parsnips, etc. Although I just eat a lot of whole wheat bread or whole wheat pasta now.

Also fruit and sugar seem to cause similar issues too, so you could give that a try if the nightshade thing doesn't seem to have an effect.

My GI has staring reacting over more and more foods as I get older. Garlic, for instance.

Should I have expected this?

Yes, almost everyone's digestive system gets worse with age. You never really see those perfectly formed childhood stools again no matter how much you try to eat healthy.

Did you know that there are male and female bell peppers? One is better raw and the only there is better cooked.
