Why isn't there a 100% perfect artificial sweetener that is indistinguishable from sugar yet

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xylitol

undistinguishable from real sugar in the following in my experience:
mint tea
iced black tea
jasmine green tea
yerba mate

chocolate cookies

since you usually cant buy those youd have to make these things yourself but it will help a lot keeping your dental health, diabetes and calories in check if sweet drinks and cookies are daily staples in your diet

I think Coke zero is better than regular coke in all honesty.

If it were indistinguishable from sugar, it would just be sugar, retard.

That said, allulose is pretty close, probably the best alternative sweetener I've had. Tastes very similar to sugar, with no gross aftertaste.

Im a fan of REAL stevia powder.

As far as I know they dont sell it in normal stores. I order it online.
The shit in stores are either full of a bulking agent or they are chemically processed so that companies can patent it.

The real shit takes a fraction to sweeten (i use about 1/4th a teaspoon to sweeten a gallon of iced tea) and has no noticable aftertaste.

Allulose is probably as good as you'll get. I find sucralose fine too, in that I can't taste anything wrong with it.

Stevia has a sweet flavour but is distinctly not sugar.

I find acesulfame potassium, aspartame, and sodium saccharin extremely bitter.

The threshold laxative effects of nearly all of the polyols/sugar alcohols are very much NOT a meme, and xylitol's threshold dose is among the lower ones (not quite as bad as mannitol or maltitol iirc?).

Except erythritol, that's much less likely to do that, you'd need like 40-50 grams of the stuff because most of it's absorbed and you use a lot less of that one.

Plus polyols tend to have that 'cooling' flavour/effect so it's definitely not sugar, but can work as part of a flavour e.g. why they're used in mouthwashes and chewing gum.

Same, but I use the liquid stevia extract that they sell at trader joes. Takes like 1-2 drops to lightly sweeten a full mug of tea, 4-5 for dessert-tier.
