A lot of the chipolte hate comes from people too scared about getting some virus from a store when it was literally like 2 locations out of the whole chain that had that problem.
I've eaten chipotle every week for years and never encountered an issue and the food has always been pretty top notch (aside from a few times when the meat was kinda dried out from sitting out too long)

Taco Bell is good, but not in the way you think. It's good not because the quality of the food is good (it isn't) but because everything tastes exactly the same, thus minimizing choice fatigue. It's all the same food in different shapes. Keeps the line moving a lot faster.

And McDonald's is unironically bad most of the time, unless you go to a suburban trust fund babby neighborhood where the burgers actually do look like they look in the ads. Otherwise, everything looks like it's been dragged through mud and sat on by a 600-lb woman who goes there too often. Typically, the only good things worth ordering from McDonald's are the McGriddles, hashbrowns, and fries. That's it. They even manage to fuck up soda half of the time.

Even then I wouldn't go to McDonald's, since the jump in quality applies to every other fast food joint. Rich Wendy's/rich Sonic/etc. is usually better than rich McDonald's.

I've lived in two different cities on opposite sides of the US and the story has remained the same; employees don't give a shit, you need a key to the bathroom, 50/50 chance the soda machine is out of order, every single chair is wobbly for some reason, weird/off atmosphere, but the food is pretty great so if you go through the drive-thru (where the employee might not be able to hear you through the shitty speaker) and take it home, it's fine.

Its not cheaper. I live in Texas and have just as many Mexican food trucks. The closest is this one truck that sells tiny tacos for $1.20 so its damn close, but overall yeah the only way a food truck is going to actually beat taco bell or be the same price is if they are skimping majorly on food costs, dont have certifications, and/or are illegally parking their food truck and have no rent to pay.

If you think you're getting cook to order at takeout Chinese places you're wrong. Panda does have more shit precooked but not nearly by as much as you think. Chinese takeout is designed to precook everything generally except a handful of the stir fry dinners, dumplings, and any noodle dishes. So either you have a very good takeout Chinese place that can handle not precooking shit or you have particularly bad Panda Express's.

Well, the places have very little wall between the dining area and the kitchen. I can see the cooks making the food to order. Hell, one of them even makes the SOUP to order (though I admit that is not standard).

When I order, say, General Tsos, I can watch them dip the chicken in the batter, deep fry it, take it out of the fryer and finish it in the wok with the sauce. The sauce is not premade, they build it up while the chicken is frying. Any Chinese place ought to be doing that.

I don't know if you've ever watched any of the old Iron Chef show but most Chinese stir-fried dishes take about two minutes to cook completely from scratch. The only things they will have premade is the various seasoning pastes and stock. And of course the veggies and meats are cut up in advance. But if they're not cooking the dish to order you're eating at a shithole.

It's easy to tell with the dishes that involve deep frying, like General Tso's, Sesame Chicken, Sweet-and-sour, etc. The batter should have an obvious crunchy texture to it. If they can't get that right go somewhere else.
