What if I can't stand mushrooms? I try them occasionally, but they just taste like rot. The smell of them being sauteed will drive me from the kitchen. Certain mild varieties I can take in a soup if they just taste like broth.

Same here, more or less. I was a very picky eater, but nowadays I eat pretty much everything that I hated as a child, some of those I actually love now (eggplant, brussel sprouts), but I still hate mushrooms and the smell alone makes me sick.

And I seriously want to like them, because some mushroom dishes sound so fucking delicious. I kinda like the idea of mushrooms as well, but the actual taste and especially texture is just awful.

Same here kinda, i can only eat a raw tomato if its on the firmer/crunchier side. I cant stand soft tomatoes. But i do like ketchup and other tomato based sauces.
