I just made some pretty good pulled pork in mine. I have to experiment with the vinegar base a little bit but it fell apart out of the cooker in an exceptionally satisfying way.

4 lbs pork shoulder in 2 in cubes, seared in oil in the Instant Pot

Add base made of
>1 cup apple cider vinegar
>1/2 cup white vinegar
>1/3 cup brown sugar
>cayenne
>salt
>pepper
>hot sauce

Pressure cook for 90 minutes.

As I said, the vinegar base needed something else in it, but overall it was quite good.

Also that's exactly what I did with my gf and she's really stoked about cooking now.

Really, any braise, stew or soup recipe works fine in a slow cooker. In fact, don't even bother googling slow cooker recipes, just use the regular recipes for the dish. One thing that improves the use of them dramatically is to take the extra step to brown the meat before adding to the slow cooker.

>> No.11186377

I loved it when I had it, but both this and another electric pressure cooker I had just both conked out and stopped working and I could never figure out why. It really pisses me off because I really loved them but I don't think I'll ever get another one. Both had the exact same thing happen outwardly and were different brands. I'm not sure if I was doing something I shouldn't do with them or what.

Go shill somewhere else, Instant Pot shill. Highest rated doesn't mean there aren't serious quality issues. Again, read the reviews. The Instant Pot is made from cheap materials and there are several photos showing cracking and other failures. For the $99 you'd spend on an Instant Pot, your money would be much better spent on a rice cooker, a pot, and a cast iron skillet for $103.29. That's just $4.29 more. With this you could steam rice and vegetables, make a pot of beans, and sear a piece of meat. Much better than one of these single pot meals. Fuck Instant Pot.
