There are quite a few in New York City, they're holdovers from a much darker age since the neighborhoods they're in have all gentrified or have started to gentrify. There are a few neighborhoods where getting fried chicken behind a bulletproof teller window is the norm though, like Brownsville (and I think even Brownsville is starting to improve).

There's a Domino's in my neighborhood that's behind bulletproof glass for some reason, I don't know why it does, my neighborhood is quite safe and it's the only fast food place with a window like that anywhere near where I live.

the school tries to be a big dick slinger uni on the level of the ivies and cali schools but can't compete because the programs aren't nearly as strong and they don't have the professorial clout. they spend all the money on dumb marketing campaigns which change every two years instead of actually building core competency (beyond the med school, which is really good). there's a huge focus on "student entrepreneurship" which is basically just a fucking joke, giving students access to a renovated railroad warehouse with a couple of 3d printers and a drill press is not going to found the next Dropbox of Broadcom.

EECS in particular is a total joke, comp sci is good and will get you a job at Google or Microsoft but the other programs are a disaster with horrible staff retention and barely passing ABET certification.

Go to OSU if you can or any other private school at the same level. Case is just a quagmire.

1. A Church's chicken in the Cincinnati Ohio area, had steel bars on it's outside windows, the door was a solid piece of windowless steel, the inside had the same plexiglass setup like the OP picture and there were no chairs or benches inside. Just tables bolted to the floor.

I was the whitest mo-fo that had ever stepped into that place.

Fat black woman working the till was as sweet as can be, and I could see that the kitchen area was immaculately clean. Which was the only reason I felt safe getting food there.

The drive thru window was some sort of revolving steel drum.

Then I got the hell out of that area as fast as my shitty company work van could go.

I've seen similar bulletproof places in Dayton, Detroit, Lexington, Atlanta. Basically whereever you have a large "urban black" population.
